Wilbur R. Joyce age 94 of Lamar, MO. passed away April 8, 2014 at Barton County Memorial Hospital, Lamar, MO.. He was born November 9, 1919 in Barton County, Missouri to Estell and Ethel (Selvey) Joyce. Wilbur was a Dairy Farmer and a carrier for the Carthage Press for many years. He graduated from Lamar High School and was a member of the Victory Baptist Church of Carthage.

Wilbur was united in marriage to Ferne Schwartz on January 17, 1942 at Greenfield, MO.. She preceded him in death on October 21, 1988. Survivors include a son, Bill Joyce of Jasper, MO.. Two daughters, Patricia Gordon of Carthage, MO. and Martha Joyce of Jasper, MO.. Five grandchildren, eight great- grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a sister, Lucille Clow and a great grandson Zeth Joyce.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 11, 2014 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. The family will receive friends 7:00 to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Weng Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Lake Cemetery, Lamar, MO..Memorial contributions can be made to Lottie Moon Foreign Missions or the Lamar Senior Center.
