Walter F. Ball age 85 of Jasper, MO. passed away November 17, 2013 at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, MO.. He was born February 11, 1928 in Jasper County, Missouri to Charles J. and Sylvia (Flourney) Ball. He was a retired farmer, former president of the Jasper Farmer's Fire Association and former board member of the North Fork Road District.
Walter was united in marriage to Velta Berryhill on May 18, 1947 in Girard, Kansas. She preceded him in death on November 17, 2009. Survivors include a son, Larry Ball and wife Patty of Jasper, MO.. Two daughters, Peggy Gordon and husband Bob of Claremore, OK. and Suzanne Berryhill of Diamond, MO.. One brother, Charles Ball of Jasper, MO.. Six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Tom Ball, John Ball, and Richard Ball. Four sisters, Martha Brown, Sylvia Sansom, Charlotte Ball, and Barbara Winders. A granddaughter, Sheila Mayfield and a great-granddaughter, Leslie Dawn.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at Weng Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Waters Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Waters Cemetery.
