Vera (Rives) Pugh, 93 of Lamar passed away August 8, 2019 at Freeman Hospital in Joplin, Missouri.
She was born May 8, 1926 in Barton County and married Raymond Albert Pugh July 1, 1944 in Girard Kansas.She attended school in Iantha, MO and graduated from Lamar High School.
Vera was a homemaker, worked with her husband and sons farming, worked as a cashier at Woods Grocery Store in Jasper, Missouri and worked in the cafeteria of Lamar Schools for several years. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Lamar. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, working with flowers and plants, but her greatest love was spending time with her family and grandchildren
She is survived by 4 sons, Carter (Jill) Pugh and Gerald (Sheila) Pugh both Irwin, Fred (Glenda) Pugh, Joplin and Joe (Vicki) Pugh of Lamar. She is also survived by one sister Janet (Calvin) Miller of Iantha, 17 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her husband Raymond Pugh, daughter Raelene Sue Miller, son Eugene Ray Pugh, 2 grandchildren Kevin and Karen Miller and her brother George Rives.
A celebration of her life will be held Tuesday August 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Missouri with visitation Monday August 12, 2019 from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
