Obituary

Richard Milo Hartley , 92 of Carthage, Missouri passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024 at St. Luke's Nursing Center. He was born on August 14, 1931 in Carthage, Missouri to Jess Oren and Mabel (Shirkey) Hartley. Richard worked as a dairy farmer, owned and operated the Western Auto store in Jasper, Missouri. Richard also worked as a mechanic for the railroad, retiring in 1988. Richard and wife Dorothy worked at the Grand Palace in Branson, Missouri. He graduated from Carthage High School with the class of 1949. Richard was a member of the Jasper United Methodist Church of Jasper, MO.

Richard was united in marriage to Dorothy McClintock on June 15, 1951. She preceded him in death on April 14, 2008. Survivors include, two sons, Dennis Hartley and wife Sandy, Tom Hartley and wife Sara, one daughter-in-law, Kelly Hartley, seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Scott Hartley, three brothers, and two sisters.

Graveside services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Paradise Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO. on Monday, May 20, 2024. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Paradise Cemetery.
