Mary Elaine Cooper Smith was born June 14 ^th , 1928 in Waverly, MO to William Berlin(Jack) Cooper and Dixie Belle Wilson Cooper.  She was the fourth child in a family of five children.

Mary married Jim Smith of Southwest City, MO on November 28 ^th , 1954 in Oak Grove, MO where her parents resided.  To this marriage came three sons: John Perry Smith, Ronald Clinton Smith and David Bruce Smith.

Mary lived a wonderful life with her family and loads of friends.  Besides being a mother, sister and running a household for her family she was the Secretary Treasurer of Green Lawn Cemetery for a number of years.  She was also a life member of the Jasper American Legion Auxiliary and a member of the Jasper Methodist Church.

Mary is survived by her two sons, Ronald(Audrey) Smith of Harrisonville, MO and David Smith of Jasper, MO, six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.   She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim on April 17 ^th , 1981, son Perry on November 17 ^th , 2015, her sister and three brothers.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 10:00 a.m at Weng Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 20, 2022 from 6:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Missouri. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Greenlawn Cemetery.
