Mary Marie Asbell, 75 of Jasper, Missouri passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at Carthage Health & Rehab.. Mary was born July 7, 1943 in Jasper County, Missouri to Vernie and Carnie (Grimmett) Pennington. Mary had worked as a waitress at the former Log City Café, she also had worked at Big Smith and O'Sullivan Industries, and was a homemaker. Mary graduated from Sarcoxie High School and was a member of the Plew Baptist Church.
Mary was united in marriage to Richard Asbell on December 8, 1962. He survives. Other survivors include, two daughters, Regina Velasco and Tina Morton. Two half-brothers, Sanford Grimmett and Gerald Grimmett. Six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Greg Asbell, a granddaughter Karlie Asbell, and a great-grandson, Garrett.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, December 29,2018 at Weng Funeral Chapel. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M., Friday, December 28, 2018 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. Burial will be in Paradise Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Foundation.
