Joan Bea Rose, 76, of Jasper, Missouri passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023 at Solace house in Joplin, MO. Joan was born on Thursday, June 6 , 1946 in Athens, Alabama to Armand and Vada (Rice) Phillips. She was a homemaker and loved her trips to the casino. She had worked as a key punch operator and at a donut shop for many years. Joan was a member of the Jasper Christian Church.

Joan was united in marriage to Jimmie Rose. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2015. Joan is survived by her daughter, Leanna Sue Shumard (Frank, her favorite son-in-law) of Jasper, two grandchildren, Jessicca Shumard and Jeremey Shumard, one brother, Milton Phillips, two sisters, her twin June Ballard, and Rose Pettit, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and special friends, Nick and Sharon Eves. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jimmie, brother, Glenn Phillips, sister, Esther Cole, and granddaughter, Sabrina Shumard.

Per Joan's wishes, there was cremation. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jasper Christian Church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Humane Society of choice or Pet Rescue.
