James Wallace Tubaugh, Jr. (Jimmy) age 68, was born on December 12, 1952 and passed away on March 30, 2021 at his home in Golden City, Missouri. He was the son of James Wallace Tubaugh, Sr and Janet Elaine(Banta) Tubaugh.

He was preceded in death by his father James Wallace Tubaugh, an infant son James Franklin Tubaugh, and a baby daughter Amber Tubaugh. James has two other children Michael and Sara. James had worked for Ziler Mercantile in Maple Grove, Missouri for many years. He started there around 9 years old helping farm and drive the truck.  He attended Jasper R-5 High School where he played on the football team and graduated in 1971.

He loved football and the Kansas City Chiefs. James started working for Safeway Cheese Company in Carthage, Missouri and was there for 25 years when they closed. He then started working for MODOT in the maintenance department and was there 20+ years until his retirement. James bought a farm east of Avilla, Missouri and raised cattle and raised his two children. Later he moved to Golden City, Missouri.

Survivors include his two children, Michael Paul Tubaugh and wife Jessica of Hampton, Virginia, and Sara Kay (Tubaugh) Lowther and husband Shane of Joplin, Missouri. He is also survived by his mother Janet Elaine (Banta) Tubaugh of Springfield, Missouri, two sisters, Sally Elaine (Tubaugh) Plain of Girard, Kansas and Peggy (Tubaugh) Fenstermacher and husband Paul of Springfield, Missouri, his grandchildren Connor Tubaugh, Bailey Tubaugh, Marley Lowther, and Indie Lowther along with many family, friends, and his special friend Sheri Chasteen.

James was saved and baptized in the Methodist Church and will be remembered for being a loving and compassionate man who loved his family unconditionally. James was a simple man who loved the simple way of life and never complained. He was a great man and will be missed dearly. He loved watching the "old" western movies on TV, his favorite being any John Wayne movie.

Memorial graveside services will be held on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Dudenville Cemetery.
