James F. "Jim" Babcock, 87 of Carthage, MO. passed away February 11, 2017 at his home..He was born December 9, 1929 in Carthage, Missouri to Glenn and Blanche (Harbaugh) Babcock Jim was retired from Hercules Powder Company after 32 years of service. He also was a farmer. Jim was a member of the First Christian Church of Carthage and the N.R.A.. He was a former member of the Knights Of Pythius and the Joplin Elks Lodge.
Jim was united in marriage to Eva Button on July 3, 1953. She survives of the home. Other survivors include, One son, Jim C. Babcock (Regina) of Joplin. Two daughters, Teresa Henry (A. D.) and Mary Riley both of Carthage. Grandchildren, Megan Henry, Joel Babcock, and Morgan Gilkerson. Great Grandchildren, Kash Calvin, Kendall and Emerlynn Babcock. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Dick Babcock, Bob Babcock, and Ken Babcock. A son in law, Steve Riley, and a grandson, Drew Babcock.
