George Calven Newman age 69 of Reeds, MO. passed away March 18, 2014 at Mercy McCune-Brooks Hospital in Carthage, MO.. He was born December 15, 1944 in Heber Springs, Arkansas to Earl and Delora (Batten) Newman. Calven was a self-employed carpenter and worked many years as a construction laborer in the Kansas City area before moving to Reeds.

Calven was united in marriage to Bonnie Ketron. She Survives. Other survivors include two sons, Chase Newman of Carthage, MO. and Chance Newman of Avilla, MO.. One stepson, Courtney Dane Ketron of Springfield, MO.. Two grandchildren, Dane Ketron and Rilee Newman.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 21, 2014 at Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, MO.. The body has been taken for cremation. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Weng Funeral Chapel, Jasper, Missouri. Online condolences may be made at wengfuneralchapel.com.
